Privacy Policy

Keel is made by Lackin LLC ("we"). This policy explains what Keel collects, why, and the choices you have. Short version: your health log stays on your phone, we don't sell or share your data for advertising, and Keel shows no ads.

What stays on your device

• Your profile answers (medication type, dose day, goal, weight, units), the meals, doses, injection sites and check-ins you log. These are stored only on your phone. We don't receive them.
• "Delete my data" in Settings erases them from your phone.

What we process on our servers

• An anonymous app ID. Keel creates a random identifier on first launch. It isn't linked to your name, email or phone number.
• Subscription status. When you subscribe, Apple, Google or Stripe tells us the purchase details (product, price, dates, status, and a transaction ID) so we can unlock Pro on your devices. We never receive your card number.
• Meal photos, when you use the photo estimate. The photo is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to estimate protein, fiber and calories. We don't store the photo, and Anthropic doesn't use it to train models under its commercial terms. We keep only a usage record (time, model, token count and cost), tied to your anonymous app ID.
• Anonymous usage events (for example: onboarding step viewed, paywall viewed, scan succeeded, app error), tied only to the anonymous app ID, so we can fix bugs and improve the app. They contain no health log contents, photos or contact details.
• Support messages you send us, with the email address you give us so we can reply.

What we don't do

• No advertising, no ad tracking, no selling or sharing of personal data.
• We don't use your health information for marketing.
• Keel doesn't give medical advice. It is a personal tracking tool, not a medical device.

Service providers

• Convex (backend hosting), Anthropic (AI meal estimates), Apple and Google (app store purchases), Stripe (web purchases, if you use them), Cloudflare (this website). They process data only to provide their service to us.

Retention and deletion

• Subscription records are kept as long as needed for billing, tax and legal reasons.
• To delete server-side records tied to your app ID, contact us through the support page and choose "Delete or export my data".

Children

Keel is for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or US state privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data. Use the support page and we'll respond within 30 days.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
